Calla Lillies

This is an acrylic and marker painting I did for my mother-in-law for mother’s day 2012. It is her favorite flower. It is just on art paper and not canvas and the marker was used to fill in the background. I love doing flowers because it really develops the ability to show shape.

I am one of those lucky guys who has an amazing mother-in-law. Which is not surprising considering how amazing my wife is and she is a reflection of her mother. It is always a pleasure doing things for her. It also feels good to give back to her since she has helped us so much over the years.

Thank you for taking this stroll down the art lane.

Rutting Silhouette

deersiloutte

I did this one back in the 90’s. It is done with pencil crayon. At the time I was part of an Artist’s Guild and I did this for an art show they were having. At the time I lived in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada. The picture is actually larger then this photo shows. The drawing never sold at the art show, however, my older sister did buy it from me. Actually I don’t believe I sold anything at the show, but my family did buy some of the drawings.

I love silhouettes to draw or take photos of. I have no idea why but they do intrigue me. Maybe it is the bright colors contrasted by the black shapes.

Thank you for taking another walk down the art trail with me.
